What is the best city to fly into on the way to Damascus? Roanoke? Knoxville? Charlotte? etc.

I've done it twice. Once to Knoxville and once to the Tri-Cities (Kingsport/Johnson City). If you're renting a car it probably doesn't matter and Knoxville is an easy shot on the interstate. If you can arrange for a shuttle I'd say shoot for the Tri-Cities airport.

I've been looking at this for a hike next June and am considering Tri-Cities also. It's about 25 miles south on I-81.

We live in the Tri-Cities area and would be happy to shuttle from TRI to Damascus. It is about a 45 minute drive. PM if you need to talk details.
