Hey community,

I've been planning a 30mile trek from Dick's Creek to Albert Mnt. Firetower the last weekend in December. Since 11/12, Dick's Creek Gap to Rock Gap has been closed due to the Rock Mountain fire. What's the likelihood the trail will be reopened this year?

Thanks!

They just reopened a small part of the section you want to hike -- everything north of Mooney Gap. No word from ATC at this point about the still-closed section from Dick's Creek to Mooney.

The ATC has to get clearance from the USFS to enter and inspect the trail and shelters for any issues with runoff, downed vegetation, structural integrity, etc before opening NOBO from Dicks Creek.

Thanks for the update. FS site hasn't updated yet, but I see AT updates has.
