North Country Trail - New York Resupply

I'm looking for information about the part of the North Country Trail that is also the Finger lakes trail in New York.
I'm wondering how far off trail you have to be willing to go to resupply along this section of trail.
Info from first hand experience or locals who live near the trail is all welcome
