Looking to leave truck at either end and shuttle. Is parking safe at Buckman locks or Clearwater lake?

I'd park a Clearwater as there's a CG. Not much out at the locks.

I read on a social media page there is someone leaving index cards at trailheads etc for shuttles through ONF,,,
He is suppose to be reasonable and reliable.
Iif you find yourself near the citrus tract(not far from onf) let me know as I am doing a hike out there before I start my thru hike.

I was actually considering one this sunday and monday or monday and tuesday but want to look into the hunting regulations there etc... although do not think there will be much first of week etc.

I did an overnighter there a week and a half ago, and there were plenty of hunters, but I hiked wearing my Blaze Orange hat, and didn't get shot.

That's a great section, my partner and I did that during spring break in early March a while back. Very enjoyable. Glad there is someone shuttling again, I may need to chat with my wife about doing that at Christmas one year soon. :)

Seems like a reasonable 3 -3.5 day trip? Hoping to get some cold weather as this heat is ridiculous...probably late march early April.

Yup. Though the trail was more difficult than I expected -- no hills, of course, but walking on sand can be slower.

Most folks I shuttled on that section of the FT (clearwater-Rodman) took 5-6days...Ticks are pretty brutal now,mild winter I guess...just FYI

I contacted the Rodman campground looking for a shuttle down to Clear Water Lake and they suggested Carl at 352-427-2990. I would use him again. In addition to the shuttle service, he helped me with support mid way thru while dealing with blisters.
