I am trying to find information about southern PA for someone not able to post the question themselves.

He initially asked about Route 30 near Waynesboro, PA, but then added the following clarification:

Thank you for your help. I was wondering if you could help me find a location that I hiked 15 years ago with my son and his Scout troop. It was in southern part of PA. We parked what apparently was boot camp for boys rather than be placed in jail. The AT trail was directly across the road from the camp. I'm teaching a class at the local community college in early October but the description is getting put in their upcoming magazine where they advertise classes being offered. I appreciate what ever you can provide.

If anyone has helpful information, please respond to this thread.

Thanks in advance.

1. South Mountain Restoration Center - near the trail on rte. 233 south of Caledonia State Park. First link mentions reference to boot camp on page 19 and second link mentions "DHS Office of Children, Youth and Families secure treatment unit" so that is probably what you were thinking of.

2. Probably not this - Camp Penn United Methodist Church Camp - located practically on the trail on Old Forge Rd. in Michaux SF. No mention of ever being a boot camp. CCC Camp and Church Camp references only.

Thanks for the quick reply. My faith in the whiteblaze community was well placed.
