hammock for two? [Archive]

I hate sleeping on the ground.

I have been peeking over at the trease dome 2 tree tent but I am unhappy about the weight. (12 pounds). I asked them about a lighter/ custom version ect. and got a rather rude reply. (rather defensive / sensitive about his weight)

I could get one and take it for mods to lighten it up but that seems a bit expensive.

Suggestions?

Make two Speer-types and hang them from the same tree, under the same tarp. Check the last two days of threads from Yahoo hammockcamping group for more discussion of this. There should be pics in the photo section, too.

I appreciate the suggestion BUT... that is a no-go... no skin, no go , ya know?

Thats why Im pokin around for alternatives.

I believe I did mention it... unfortunately the thing (dome 2) weighs almost 12 pounds.....A bit much for my back to carry. I could get one and rework it to be lighter but that seems a bit redundant. On the other hand Im not sure I want to try and engineer one myself.

Its a bit of a dilema.....

ouch 12 lbs pretty heavy lol
