The main difference here on top of the price seems to really only be the base material. The BG is sil/pu vs MLD having a 1.3 oz cuben bottom. Field tested how well does the sil/put hold up to heavy rainfall or very damp conditions? The only material I have been confident in being 100% waterproof since we started backpacking has been Cuban and sometimes even that has limitations like on a rain coat with a pack. Everything else material wise seems to end up weaping though that I've owned. Any input would be great.
I was going to get a goretex alpine or advanced bivy but I feel like a Cuben bottom and event top would. E the end all for a waterproof bivy.
