I've posted this before, but here it goes again.
Scream exchanges heard by camper on Appalachian Trail near Greenwood Lake
http://www.bfro.net/GDB/show_report.asp?id=2144
It's from the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization. It's a pretty interesting site, it even lists two sightings in the 70's in my home town.

There was a black panther (No, not Huey Newton) that lived near me when I lived in Wacahoota, FL. and when it screamed, you'd swear a women was getting her throat cut.
One time my family was camping in the Ocala National Forest (where there are lots of Big Foot sightings) near Buck Lake on a fine winter's eve. Naturally, our 2 teenage boys were too cool to camp too close to us so they set up a camp at least 100 yards away. An hour later they came rushing back into our camp with as much gear as they could carry in their hands and shouting that they had seen a Giant "Satchmo" (they meant Sasquatch). They would not go back to their camp until the next day. I thought that was pretty good testimony, although when I think about their Gaint "Satchmo" I get this funny picture in my head of a big Louis Armstong belting out"Hello, Dolly!"

alone at windsor furnace shelter above hamburg 10 - 15 years ago i awoke in the nite to the sound of large earth shaking explosions directly in front of the shelter at 50 to 400 feet .boom!, then boom boom!,i cannot see at nite and it was snow covered with bare trees in an ice storm.about seven explosions later i could not conceive of the cause. i felt no human or animal presence and sure enough when i woke and looked ,....trees had exploded from ice and pressure and weight. each tree had sawdust circles around it for 20 feet out.the saw dust was fine and thick and the trees were all broken right at eye level. shattered like ,...like shatered exploded wood.then bigfoot stopped by for tea.the end.

Exploding trees I have heard about and there was a Discovery Channel show about them about a year ago. I think that they were reporting about VT area. These trees do kill people when they go. I think that sometimes when they are tapping trees for sap you can set them off and people do get killed by the explosion.

Now for Bib Foot? When I lived in Ohio they always reported him along the Ohio River. Who knows. But to be safe, that is why I always have an extra beer in the pack. Might as well have a beer with him since no one would believe me anyway when I got back home if I saw him.

There seem to be a lot of bigfoot encounters in Northern Georgia.

Founder and Southern California resident Matt Moneymaker told the newspaper that the terrain around Hot Springs is perfect sasquatch habitat.

as a remote veiwer i belive elmer knows well the bigfoots that feed on his organic garden. he knows more than hes lettin on. trust me, elmer has bigfoots for guests in the off season. its been going on for a long long time.

There is a legendary creature known about by locals in the Bigelow mtn area of Maine known as CLAWTOOTH, a Sasquatch/Yeti like creature with a protruding clawlike upper tooth for snagging it's prey. It has only rarely been spotted in the wintertime and remains undocumented. Local game officials won't even acknowledge mountain lions in the state. Tracks/scat and other markings have been found but what leaves an impression on hikers and locals is the out of this world screaching comming from the MTN in the middle of the night. Some of the overnight winter hikers I've met (with freightened stares) said they would not be returning .

I saw bigfoot on several occasions on the AT, but that was only because I had a great view from the bottom-level window on the flying saucer I had just been placed in after being abducted by aliens while I was living near area 51.

Is the abominable snowman just an arctic big foot? Kind of like a polar bear vs. a grizzley?

NPR did a story on the exploding trees as well. (http://www.npr.org/templates/dmg/dmg_wmref.php?prgCode=ATC&showDate=01-Apr-2005&segNum=19&mediaPref=WM&sauid=U757738761158241004214&getUnderwriting=1) The segment in its entirety is less than 8 minutes, and well worth the time of listening. (Streaming with windows media player)

And just to stay on topic, here is an NPR story about a man who claims he perpetuated the entire big foot myth. (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=869642) (page contains link to a real player stream)

I was abducted by aliens, too!! They beat me up 'cuz I couldn't speak spanish. (For you rancourous individuals out there and people who think I'm being rancourous, that was a joke. I guess it could have been taken personally by latinos, so I will now have to illegally immigrate to Mexico.):banana

bigfoots live to hide from us. they are smart and strong. but they dont kill men. and they dont travel alone so to never allow a dead one to be found. if one dies the other hides the body. they understand things on a deep level. deeper than men.there not magical. they never changed ,like roaches and sharks and ginko trees. they were smart long before any men and so there knowlage is far reaching. they know the earth as well as our satalite maps and there brains are to ours as ours are to a computer in speed.they talk a language witch is universal with all bigfeet ant all animals. its based on tone and feelings. they sence humans long before they can see us . and they interact with innocents all the time. well not all the time. but consistantly thru history. if you want to meet a bigfoot its up to you not them. since they dont fear animals or innocents,.. you just need to be pure. that dosnt mean lilly white. it means that when a bigfoot sences you he must see that you are absolutly incappable of killing men. if you could kill in self defence or insanity they wont ever be near you. if even under penalty of death you cannot be forced to harm another soul,... then the world of bigfeet is open to you.i usualy feel them but am too scared too see them so they stay hidden from me. but there only as rare as bear . they are seen. just not on purpose or often. i can see a time when ill be calm enough to talk to the bigfeet. when im old. im still talkin to domesticated animals. i need to practice being calm to talk to wild animals. bigfoot is just a wild man.
