Short Hike Around Asheville NC

Hey ya'll I'm headed to Asheville early sunday morning and staying the night with my Wife and 2 boys (both under 3.)I'm looking for a short day hike we could take either sunday or monday morning relatively close to the city (9 month old gets cranky in the car.)

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

The Mountains to Sea Trail runs along the parkway through Asheville. You can pick it up at the Folk Art Center, turnouts, and road junctions. Anything north of the Folk Art Center will be climbing up the ridge. Parkway will probably be closed for ice.
