What's your favorite piece of equipment or gadget near or below $50 on Amazon. Got a gift card burning up my pocket. 😜

Some good books on/about backpacking. I've never bought any other kind of backpacking gear from Amazon.

Sawyer Squeeze filter. A Zebralight headlamp (more than fifty bucks but worth it). Titanium tent stakes. A flask for some whisky for cool nights on the trail. Cascade carbon fiber trekking poles, a bargain at $45.

Human Gear GoBites Duo fork and spoon. It has a great feel in the mouth, weighs under an ounce, can be joined to make a long utensil to get into mountain House bags or separated. It cleans easy and no food gets caught like in a folding spoon.

My old ski pole is my favorite piece of equipment I have been hiking with it for many years, but if I have to buy something for under fifty bucks it would be more books for my kindle so I can read after a long day of hiking.

Soto torch. Put a regular lighter in it and the results are amazing.

from amazon, I have recently bought
sawyer squeeze
a titanium long handled spoon
a deuce of spades
darn tough socks (although casual wear for work and not the padded hiking version)
My Neoair battery operated pump! Laugh if you will but it's the most effecient doo-dad ever. We took it along on our thru attempt a couple years ago and at the end of a long day she filled the pads while I went for water. I'm sure the bag pumps work just as well but this thing requirs no effort, and that's what I want at days end.

It's "Shugs" favorite...affordable and easy-peasy to use:)

A Snowpeak 450ml insulated double-wall mug. It keeps coffee and tea hot, beer cold, and won't burn your lips. Yes, it's a luxury, but it's the one item I sent home on my thru hike in a constant effort to shave a few ounces that I ended up regretting sending home.

Sea to Summit X Mug $13.45
Cocoon Hyperlight AirCore Pillow $17.50
