Considering doing mile 31 to Ohiopyle the end of March.

I was wondering if the trail is passable without snowshoes?

I'm not looking to do any post holing either.

I skied Seven Spribgs today. The trail goes right thru the ski area. Judging from the terrain not covered by snow making, which had very little snow cover, there will be no need for snowshoes especially since rain is forecast for the weekend and warmer temps next week.

My wife and I hiked this trail end to end the beginning of April 2017.
70 miles with 8 nice camping areas. The only rub is that you have to make reservations and pay a small fee to camp. We were surprised one evening to have a ranger drive into the camping area and check our reservation. We spent a night at each camping area since I doubt we'll ever do this trail again. That made for 9 days of hiking with mileage ranging from 6 to 12 miles between camp sites. Some very interesting rock formations the trail goes though as it winds it's way through park and game lands. I think blaze orange would be appropriate during hunting season. And for those who don't want to do all 70 miles at once there are a lot of places to access the trail. Again, a very nice trail, I highly recommend it.
