Can this really be an FKT attempt?
For someone of his speed leaving on the 25th of March would imply a finish somewhere around the 10th of May - assuming he was to match his record pace of 46 days.
Early to mid-May through the Whites and up Katahdin?
I don't think so.
He is just going out for a nice run I expect and the assumption he is taking off on a FKT is not likely warranted and is a misunderstanding. I doubt he was implying he was off on another FKT attempt.

Unless he's dropped from GDR, he's probably just getting ready for the race and it didn't occur to him that using that tag would make it seem like a new thing.
