Mohican Outdoor Center Not Robbed?

Apparently, the Mohican Outdoor Center robbery was a cover story for theft:

I thought it was suspicious right from the first report. Thieves like an easy in and an easy out and Mohican Center is neither. Too easy to get trapped on the one and only road.

The Mohican Center has been an orphan property for AMC for years. They lease it from the national recreation area and its on the fringes of AMCs base. For years they would always have specials and group events there as otherwise it would be vacant. I also expect its regarded as a pretty desolate outpost for AMC employees far away from the mothership in Boston. Generally off season employees are not paid very well as there is high demand for these jobs from recent college graduates trying to string together an outdoor career.

Yeah and just from a ripe target standpoint this made no sense. Maybe a bunch of punk kids but armed gunmen?

I have been vindicated!!! and with that AMC :) They cheated me and other thru hikers in 2013, I almost pursued mail theft charges against them.

I would like to let the authorities and AMC know about what happened with my mail sent to them, I do believe others have also fallen victim to them.
