I was on Franconia Ridge today, Lafayette to Haystack. 100 plus mile view in all directions. It doesn't get much better than this. Thru hikers rarely get long views like winter views as there is usually haze most of the summer. In the winter I can usually see all the major ski resorts from Jay peak down to Sugarbush, Moosilaukee blocks and farther south.
There is still 5 to 6 feet of snow up high and snow right down the trailhead.
Drove up to Mt Agamenticus in York today to retrieve my gloves I lost last weekend. Perfect views of Mt Washington, the air was so clear. 14 inches of snow last Sunday, this week, bare ground.
