I have been refreshing my gear for my thru hike with the wash in as most people here recommend. Works great BTW! I was curious if anyone has used it as a spray on successfully. Would like to hit up a few items that cannot be submerged.

I have another brand, ReviveX, and it's instructions lead me to believe spray on may not be effective. Assuming these work in the same way using a drier is imperative. I imagine this "fixes" the water proofing to the garment material. I don't know what you'd want to waterproof which can't also be submerged, but if that's the case, it probably can't go into a drier either, making the treatment ineffective.
If you can put the item in the drier, making a solution with about the right warm water to TXdirect mix and spraying or even just dabbing it on with a sponge until the material was uniformly saturated would likely work.
