looking for a good place to get historical weather info for the trail. I am doing a small section this year,from sams gap to davenport gap in nc in june,or can someone tell me the average day time and night time temps for that time of year. thanks in advance.

a little bit of hillbilly mind average is about mid 40s at night and mid 70s day
up in those high elavationsYou couls ad 5 to 10 down low on sunny days but there is lots of rain in June around here.

Well if you prepare for 40s and for 70s and rain, you should be all set. I actually didn't check the specifics from that link for what "In Theory" was looking for. I just remember that link being pretty good general info. Maybe for "historical weather" a farmers almanac would be good. They have to have those online!?

Day:Sunny or partly cloudy, hot, humid, possible rain. Night:Cooling off, with possible showers. Highs in the 80's, low's in the 40's

Weather.com (http://www.weather.com) has historical high/low/average temps, precip, sunrise/set by month and day. Just type in the town of interest, but note that some towns don't report directly and are in valleys, so subtract 5-10 degrees for the mountains.

Thru-hiker.com (http://www.thru-hiker.com/temporal.asp) has general info by AT trail town.
