Looking to plan a way to get from Katadin next year to the nearest airport to fly to Indiana. Not big on small airplanes. Anyone done this and if so how.

The AT Lodge in Millinocket is the way to go. They will get you from Baxter to Midway, where you can get a bus to Portland or Boston and a real airport.

There are a few ways, the easiest is the most expensive; you can have Hundred Mile Wilderness
adventures and Outfitters shuttle you from Baxter to Bangor airport (very easy) or pay less and they can shuttle you to Medway where you can catch a bus to Bangor or farther points if need be. The AT Lodge in Millinocket will shuttle you to Medway and, again, you can take the bus to Bangor Airport or other airports. Occasionally, you can hitch a ride to Millinocket or Medway, maybe even Bangor.
