I'm looking for recommendations for an after-market chest pouch that I can attach to my pack straps and use it to carry just food. Aside from the zpacks 4 in 1.

Seek outside has a chest pouch. Or top lid. Your choice. Designed with their packs in mind, but can be adapted to other packs.

Integrates wonderfully w my packs and has great application by itself.

...Aside from the zpacks 4 in 1.

Curious; why is not the ZPacks product your first choice?

I have several ZPacks products and have almost always found them well designed and well constructed. The one time I had a quality issue with a ZPacks product, it was resolved quickly and satisfactorily.

Osprey makes on as well, my husband uses it and loves it. https://www.rei.com/product/878474/osprey-ultralight-grabbag-waistpack-and-pack-pocket?CAWELAID=120217890000826158&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=15723878200&CATCI=aud-87986356584:pla-302306653385&cm_mmc=PLA_Google|404_57851|8784740001|none|4faf31 1b-d346-4d2e-8984-9786503614cc|aud-87986356584:pla-302306653385&lsft=cm_mmc:PLA_Google_LIA|404_57851|8784740001|no ne|4faf311b-d346-4d2e-8984-9786503614cc|aud-87986356584:pla-302306653385&gclid=CjwKEAjwqIfLBRCk6vH_rJq7yD0SJACG18frKIkC1jqC EmHKFADfKwtvOjkBNc2u38ZttaXmzJZyVxoCQ7Tw_wcB

If you already have a Katadyn water filter but are using a Sawyer or some other type, its storage pouch works well.

I've one of these as well, though a much older style, worked for me...I also use a fanny pack around the waist up front.

I much preferred the Ribz Front Pack compared to the Zpacks front pack. I found the Zpacks front pack a pain to constantly have to clip and unclip and when putting my pack on, it was one more thing swinging around to have to contend with.

@Flounder940 - Did you use 4 straps or two in securing your Zpaks front pack? In Zpaks demo video, Will Wood only attaches the top two. As such I removed the bottom two with a big pair of scissors. Subsequently I learned that it might have been better to use all four. Zpaks said it shouldn't be an issue.

I used all four straps.

Thanks - shall see how it goes with only two. I bought it for my rain jacket and pants for convenience sake which in total weigh about 10 ounces. I think if it was heavier it would swing about like crazy
