Looks like the summits of the northern Presidentials got some snow last night or this morning. Not a lot, just enough to notice once the clouds lifted this afternoon. With 27 F and 75 MPH winds on Mt Washington, this is the kind of day we warn you about. The cloud deck is about 5000 feet and the snow/rime ice goes down to about 4000 feet.

I think this is the earliest I've seen snow up there in my 25 years living at the base of Mt Adams.

What's left of Harvey shows up here with 2" of rain Sunday (big deal, eh?) and drags some warm air in for a few days once that moves out sometime Monday.

Doing a Hut hop in mid-September through the presidentials. Wasn't planning on packing microspikes... lol

Welcome to New Hampshire. :) I remember postholing down Moosilauke in unforecast snow that was over my boot tops one year - in June.

Yeah, that's the weather they warn us about.

This was taken on top of Lafayette on July 6th. I didn't expect the 40 degree temps with 80 mph wind. I thought this was summer!

Burrrr! I was a little to the left of that picture 8-17/19 -17 It cleared, but never did warm much. One can only wonder how extensive changes will be this winter. I envy your view! Thx!

While climbing up Katahdin Saturday (9/2) via the Knifes Edge, there were pockets of snow in the shade. Some folks in our group did the Coe, Brothers Fort loop on Friday and encountered active snowfall during the daytime.

Definitely an early fall this year.
