Camping at Bearwallow Gap

I am planning on doing a section hike from Hot Springs to Erwin and was wondering if there is a possible campsite at Bearwallow Gap. It is 3 miles passed Little Laurel Shelter.

Its been a while. But I remember Bearwallow being the junction with the Jerry Miller Trail. And is the pretty close to the exposed trail; very rocky area.

You would have better camping and views out on Jones Meadows just to the south using the Viking Mtn Road access. Further north is Jerry Cabin, the meadows near Big Butt, and the Shelton Graves.

At bearwallow gap, there are a few tenting sights on both north and south side of the road crossing. The ones on the south side of road I can not remember very well, but there are 1-2 tent sites with in eye or earshot of the road.
