whats your favorite mid-weight glove?

my fingers get cold easily so I'd like something warm but with dexterity

I like "windbloc" or "windstopper" fleece gloves. There are different thicknesses out there, but I go with something midweight, similar to a 200-wt fleece sweater. The wind block membrane keeps my hands much warmer in windy or crappy conditions. I do carry a waterproof overmitt in the winter to keep them dry.

I love a product called Wristies. It just warms the blood passing through the wrist, going to the fingers. Opposite of NASCAR Drivers sticking wrist outsid window during hot races to cool blood. Anyway, the Wristies work with a light glove or mitten over them. Layer up or down as required for warmth. I often end up leaving the Wristies on more than the gloves when hiking.

I basically carry the Wristies and glove liners for Winter. I often sleep in Wristies in the winter.

I wear the nomex flight gloves that you see Army helicopter pilots wear. They have leather palms and are long so there are no wrist drafts. Works pretty good for quickly handling hot pots also. I also have a cut down pair for warmer weather use.

I've always used military wool glove liners (http://www.armysurpluswarehouse.com/wool-gloves-inserts.html). You may want to go to your local army/navy store to try on so you get the right size.

My Black Diamond Heavyweight Screentap Fleece Gloves are incredibly versatile. Can handle a wide range of cold temperatures well. Only weigh about 2 oz for the pair so “heavyweight” is a bit misleading.

Try the 400 series gloves from OR. I use the mittens, instead of the gloves. They have a lightweifgr fleece layer, then a windbloc layer.
