They have the Hubba NX but I'm looking for lighter.

Just a word of warning about Massdrop for California and New Jersey residents. They are required to collect sales tax on items shipped to those states. The problem is that they don't keep track of what is taxable. They just collect tax on it all. I recently attempted to buy clothing and was going to be charged tax even though clothing is sales tax exempt in NJ. When I contacted them, they basically said that their ecommerce platform is unable to keep track of what is taxable (hello 1999 e-commerce...) so their answer is to tax everything shipped to these states and rely on the customer to notify them during or after checkout to have the tax removed/refunded. I pointed out to them that collecting tax on non-taxable goods is illegal and amounts to fraud. I also forwarded the information on their practices to the NJ Div. of Consumer Affairs and Div. of Taxation. I noticed that they now mention that clothing is not subject to tax in NJ, but don't know if they actually fixed their system so that taxes are applied only to tax eligible items. I no longer get their drop notifications, since I won't do business with them (and generally can find better prices without all the BS).

So you need to start a poll and then see if enough interest gets generated.

What's Massdrop? Can't get in without a password.

Its a group buy site. You can't get in because generally speaking, they offer items at very low prices and supposedly they don't want the majority of people to see the prices since they are so low below MSRP in some cases. It is similar in idea to when you get an email from a place you have bought something from and they email a super low price offer but it has to be in your cart to see the price.

Read the reviews about it first. It's a low budget site, without guarantees, without customer service, without a firm shipping schedules. Buyer beware.

I've ordered about 10 different items from massdrop and everyone one has been delivered well within the time frame specified with no issues what so ever. Not saying that they are not problem with massdrop but I have have had very good luck with them. I have probably saved well over 300 dollars by buying through them.

I joined mass drop about three months ago. I'm not impressed at all. Every single item I've been interested in has been found for around the same price (give or take a few bucks) at a regular retailer.

So don't buy from them. There are pretty much always multiple options for purchase at a discount if you're willing to put in the effort. I found a few cases (3-4) where Massdrop, even with tax and shipping, worked out better for me than other sellers. Most of the time I was able to get a better total price elsewhere.

I've used massdrop a few times and never had a problem with the purchase. That said, their prices sometimes aren't better than what you can find on Amazon. FYI - If you see that and let them know, I've seen the price drop.

Also, there are sometimes warranty issues because massdrop is considered the "original purchaser"

I have bought 20-30 things from them and not had any issues so far. I have noticed that on certain items(knives in particular) they are often not the lowest. As far as backpacking gear goes. Once it was a MH Ghost Whisperer, which I keep an eye on just in case I decide I want to pay to drop 1-2 oz. The other was a OR Helium II, twice I ended up finding it on clearance for $20-30 lower than Massdrop. I got mine for $80 from Orvis and my wife's for $70 from REI on model color clearance.

I have purchased a few things and those things I've been quite happy with and the price paid. You can't go willy nilly into the site and assume you're getting a great deal though - do a quick search on the internet first. Otherwise, it can be great. Just wait for the things you really want. If you want to register and help me get closer to 25% off then use my link https://www.massdrop.com/r/BKUT8T

I got my Fizen trekking poles from Massdrop. I was not able to find any retailer for this brand in North America, so it was a good deal for me.
