Hi,

We are planning a trip to VA to hike the trail up to McAfee Knob in two weeks. Now that hurricane Maria is headed the same path as Irma I was wondering if anyone knows if this portion of the trail was damaged in any way from Irma and maybe we should replan a different destination?

Our goal is to hike the Knob, then travel the scenic road up to the Shenandoah N.P. by vehicle hiking some other hikes along this road for the entire week. I know Irma shut down the scenic drive but has since reopened..... but hopefully Maria sways away from this area.

Any advice on what we can plan in place of this route if Maria does hit this area?
Thanks in advance!!!!!!

I don't think the path of Irma went up that way....

All we got was a rain storm. No worries!

If anything, we were hoping for more rain than we received. It's been rather dry here of late. But, no damage whatsoever.

I haven't been up there in a few months, but yeah what the other Virginians said...we barely got anything related to Irma up this way...just a little wind and a little rain. So I highly doubt there is anything more than maybe a few tree limbs down if anything.
