JetBoil SOL
2/3 cup Barrila 3 Cheese Tortellini
1 cup cold water (reduce to 2/3 cup next time)
Cover JetBoil pot.
Light and adjust burner to minimum flame. Watch pot to prevent boil over. Stir occasionally.
Turn off burner when boil over seems imminent.
Place covered JetBoil SOL pot in insulated container.
Contemplate the nature of things for 10 minutes. (Check tortellini after 5 minutes next time)
10 minutes are up. Drain tortellini.
Butter, Parmesan cheese and tortellini go in bowl. Stir.
Eat. Enjoy.
Notes for future variations:
Adjust quantity of tortellini for individual needs.
Add meat. Summer sausage, salami, bacon, pepperoni, whatever floats my boat or yours.
Powdered butter. Easier to handle than the real stuff.
Taco seasoning, Taco Bell salsa, etc.
Cabot cheeses, powdered cheese if weight of food is a concern.
Bottom line: Ignore the cooking directions on the package. Apply backpacking cooking common sense.
Enjoy!

The above was conducted at + 400' above sea level.
My usual cooking altitude is between 10,000' and 11,500'. I expect that I will need to make some adjustments to my cooking method.
