Today at my local REI, I found this much cheaper Odor Proof bags sitting right next to much more expensive OPSack bags. OPSack 12x20" size pack comes with two bags priced at $12.50 plus tax, while the Coghlans size 12x16" pack comes with three bags at $0.83. Anyone has any experience with them? Here is the side by side comparison shot with the OPSack. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171009/189858b3301778686714cf3d1b53a1ea.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171009/5f6abc92a161f84bdeed97dbecc4daaa.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171009/52343476a601c80f758e2afed5739c22.jpg

OPSacks have way sexier packaging.

FWIW: I've had multiple OPSacks fail on me on different occasions, so I don't know but that a cheap alternative might be a better sack as well as being a better deal.

I’ve used opsacks and they seem to hold up pretty well. The others look like a regular thinner zip lock.

There was a test done inside a University locker room ( a very large and would think full of smells...) where odour proof bags with food inside were hidden inside the lockers at random.
Dogs found them in no time at all.
Bears are a lot better than that...

There was a test . . .Dogs found them in no time at all.
The only legitimate argument for "odor proof" bags is that they can reduce the amount of odor and thus reduce the effective area over which a pest may smell the food and act to acquire it. They sure as heck won't stop an animal in the area from smelling it all together.

We had a thread going about this not too long ago. The Opsaks had failed on me also.
Someone from Opsaks saw the post and sent me a message stating that they had a bad machine producing bags that failed, and that the problem is now solved.
I like the coghlan ones. Seem like they're easier to close. And I don't think I've had any failures with them.

That sounds reasonable. The OPSacks have a pretty good overall reputation, and then I had several different ones bought at different (but similar) times that failed, so I gave up. Maybe I'll try them again some time soon.

I bought these from Amazon. They work fine. At least to my human noise.
