Day hike possible overnight stay...

Hey everyone...I’m starting at elk pen and doing a quick day hike to Fingerboard MAYBE an overnight stay...I know they were working on the shelter this year...does anyone have any updated info on the condition of the shelter?

Unlikely to have water. Load up at Island Pond.

Agree about the water... although there's a deluge on the way.

The shelter is in excellent condition. I don't know if that pesky bear is still hanging around.

Also agree, no water. There were two bears that visited that shelter every morning when I went thru this year, not dangerous, just waiting for people to leave trash behind. If it rains, the roof can be used to collect water, since it's so low on the back side.
