a good idea !! Am I the only 'short-timer' with enough time on my hands to
check in or what ?
When I did my tour in Viet-Nam( notice the old spelling) we did a short-
timers stick made from a 50 cal. round and the igniter stick from a arty
round for our last 30 days in country. Then did secret things :> )). I got
sent home early so I just got mine made before rotating back to the world.
I was thinking 15 days or less before starting your hike should qualify
as an short-timer ?
I guess maybe I am just too excited huh...

I am not into the short timer yet. There is still 4-5 months before I leave SOBO.
Now I think about it, it still is not that long of time. I still have a couple gear issues to solve.
