I'm planning my first southern section hike from Springer to NOC in mid April. The plan is to end at NOC and fly from Asheville (have the tickets so I'm committed). What can you tell me about shuttle availability in the area? thanks much, dan b.

The outfitter (beside the restaurant) is your best source. You'll have to wait for someone to get off work.
If you call the outfitter ahead of time they can probably have someone meet you according to your schedule. We've called them twice and both times they had an off duty employee hook up with us.:)
