Shared this on HF, but figured I would also do so here:

Waterproof anything with this stuff. It is the real deal. Most extreme test was waterproofing 8x11 pieces of paper (printed maps) to the point they will hold water like a bowl. Yet still manages to breath fine on my apparel. I have tried most all the DWR and silicon sprays available, others do not even come close. No, it does not leave a thick tacky layer behind. Give it a try...you can thank me later ; ) https://www.amazon.com/Atsko-Silicone-Water-Guard-10-5-oz/dp/B0001FYL2MWhat to use it on? EVERYTHING!

Walmart carries it in the camping section.

Yes good stuff.
Every few seasons, or every season for frequent users, you could do the fly of a silnylon tent to extend its life.
The weight on the can includes the propellant, the silicone content is around 3 oz (from memory)

I've used that stuff a few times on fabric but my experience has not been so positive. YMMV.
