This is timely for me, Dennis. I'm moving to the DC area in mid-January and I'm looking forward to being close to the trail. I'm sure I'll be a regular day and section hiker as well as a member of the PATC.

I shuttle out of pearisburg, va. Would like to take the opportunity to point out the transportation options for those in the DC/NVA. Mega bus runs non-stop union station to christiansburg, va.(20-30 miles from the AT). Amtrak has a new run DC-Roanoke(15-20 miles from AT). For more info feel free to call 540-921-7433
