watching a recent video from Shug. He's playing with some warbonnet tarps that use spreader bars for tarps
starting at about 11:40.... https://youtu.be/EfNTbomtRIY?t=11m47s

So this spreader bar got me to thinking about doing something similar with the guy outs on a tent, like my new duplex. Maybe a way to get a little more room in the tent and keep the overall trip hazard footprint down a bit...

So simple but I've never thought about it with other tents I've had in the past.....

thoughts?

The duplex has attachments to pull out the side if you want but I wouldn’t use a pole contraption like that.

If I want to give my head end a bit more room in the duplex I just snap a stick to size and run the side pullout over it.

I've just been using my hiking poles as spreader bars on my tarp. Heck, I am already carrying them.
