I had a few friends who used that model last year and were happy with that pack.

GREAT PACK! But heavier than your sil nylon packs, much tougher and if you are new to packing, a great starter, super balance and excellent size/fit options to adjust to your body really well. Enjoy... Good Choice!

Go for it! If you have your gear down in size, you might be able to go with the sixty, although the 75 would allow you enough room to hike year round with.

The Aether 75 is a bit bigger and heavier than most Thru-Hikers need. The Aether 60 is where it's at if you are looking in that direction.

I used the 60 on my thru-hike and plan to use it on the PCT this year without the lid. I think the 75 might be a little too much, but that kind of depends on your gear. Spoon

The Aether is a solid and light pack, but the 75 is probably too big, I would go with the 60. Are the rumors true, Osprey no longer makes the Aether 45? Thats what I carry and I'm a huge fan.

I think you're right. I just checked Osprey's website. Here's their new Aether lineup: http://www.ospreypacks.com/aether_intro.htm

Its such a shame they don't make that pack anymore. It's light, simple and practical and fits like a glove.

I like the design and features of the Aether series, but I would also try to go with the 60 instead of the 70. You'll have a tendency to use the space if you have it.

If you need a 60 I have a women's that was used about 15 days, and is in excellent/newish shape, let me know by PM/make offer.

I used a 60 for my thru, plenty big enough.

I'll echo other posts. Osprey makes a great pack. However, before chosing a pack, find out what size you need. Take all your gear, food, and water to an outfitter, load up a few packs, and try them on. A pack should be about the last piece of equipment that you buy.
