Wow that's great.
Thats one thing I practically hate about hiking...I find it very hard to leave camp without checking several times that I'm not forgetting something...same with breaks on the trail when I access my pack. Knowing you may have to do without something for a week if you loose it really makes me paranoid. Gives new meaning to leave no trace :D
I should add, on my week on the AT last fall I found a trail towel while taking a break and two days later lucked into the couple who lost it.
