Very interesting article... And interesting team. Nice that the Good TO GO dehydrated meal maker founder was on the trip.

i dropped a guy off at the north end on the Long Trail one year. 3-5 feet of snow. much rougher the the 100 mile wilderness

Their timing was good in that it was after the Christmas snows and January thaw, but before the serious Nor'easters showed up in March. Still a pretty amazing feat to accomplish.
