Just saw in the Pinhoti Hikers page that JPD is coming to hike the AL portion of the Pinhoti to raise awareness for the trail.

Cool. I hiked the AL section in January and only encountered 3 other hikers, only one of which was doing more than a day-hike. So many nice, empty shelters.

Cool. I hiked the AL section in January and only encountered 3 other hikers, only one of which was doing more than a day-hike. So many nice, empty shelters.Indeed! I did sections 9-19 in February and we saw 3 people on trail total over 5 days.
