I give up. I see blue highlighted numbers on the Guthook map along the trail. Tapping on them (phone app) just results in a zoom on the map. Are these numbers a "difficulty" indicator?
Thanks,
Steady

I have done some looking and these numbers do not show up in my app. A Google search for your headline phrase provides screenshots of what you speak of for the CDT. I would say that a difficulty indicator is a real good guess at what they are. I know Guthook is on Whiteblaze so hopefully he can shed some light on this topic.

I went and played with guthooks after seeing your post. I think the blue number is how many waypoints are in that section. The more I Xoom out the higher the number, then when I touch the blue highlight it zooms in and seems to correspond with the number of waypoints. Give it a try when you get time and let me know what you think.

I do not have the numbers either and I just acquired the app for my iPhone. I have the most current app.
It's shows that there are multiple icons to close together to see at the current zoom level. Zoom in and the individual icons show up. Happens usually at a camp site that has water and unique trail features like a view.

I think you are correct. I zoomed and there were additional waypoints.
case closed.
THANKS!

Yep, that explanation fits what I see as well on the Android version.
