I was wondering if anyone has used the Ziploc Big Bags as an alternative to a trash compactor bag as a pack liner?

Not sure if it would take just 1 or perhaps 2 to protect your shelter/clothes/sleeping bag/etc.

I have used them and they seem to be fairly sturdy. The zip lock even seems to hold up unlike similar versions that I've tried. Bass Pro Shops has them and I've even seen them at my local Kroger, though I'm not sure if they are the really giant size.

I've never used the Big Bag but use the 2.5 gallon size for clothing and food.

BassPro.com has them as follows:
13 x 18 x 1/8 = 6 for 6.99
24 x 21 x 3/8 = 4 for 6.99
24 x 33 x 5/8 = 3 for 6.99

Albertson's also has them.

I actually have been using 3 Coleman space saver bags all winter and they've held up great. My wife will be sending me replacements when I get to Damascus just to be on the safe side. So far, everything has stayed, snug and dry.

And yes, it's the ONLY piece of Coleman gear I have. LOL
