I'm torn which one to get - I have a HH Explorer UL Asym, and don't know if the extra weight/size is needed or not with this somewhat larger hammock.

Ideas?

I have the Explorer Asym. I bought the MacCat Deluxe and really like the extra size. I have a good foot to a foot and a half on either end for coverage. With the stuff sack, it weighs in at 16.4 oz. I use a down under quilt and am somewhat paranoid about it getting wet. Personally, I think the extra weight is a small penalty to pay for the increased coverage and the peace of mind that comes with it.

I struggled with the same choice and also settled on the Deluxe. Since I have not been able to compare the two side by side, I can't say for sure whether I made the right choice, but I am pleased with the tarp.

I also bought the deluxe because I also use a down underquilt and am also paranoid of it getting wet. But I extremely enjoy the extra space to chill out under while your hammock and quilt are still all wraped up in the #4 snake skins.
