Leaving tomorrow to do a 100 mile section NOBO, starting just South of SNP.

The weather forecast is terrible, but it's too late to back out now. I can deal with hiking in the rain. Just hope there aren't too many thunderstorms.

Any one else planning to be out in it this weekend?

I think I’m gonna be just north of your section. It’s just a little rain, right? Keeps the crowds to a minimum!

Hey, on the bright side you shouldn't have to worry about water. :-)

I just did that section during the last week in April. I was surprised by how little greenery there was at that time. Should be nice and green now. It only rained one full day, but it was also 40 degrees, very windy, and downright miserable that day. Still overall it was a very pleasant hike.

Enjoy your hike!

I will be just North of you, just North of Rockfish gap on Saturday. Unfortunately, it looks like rain forever. Trail maintenance in the rain. Fun, fun, fun.

Great section! Usually,
you can count on rain in VA.

Do you remember the storms that flooded WV a couple of years ago? I hiked through those when they came through SNP. I lucked out and twice hiked up to a shelter about 30 seconds before a storm arrived. Have fun.
