I'm looking for a section hiking partner to do 3-5 day hikes in NC and TN. I am 60 and typically hike 10-15 miles a day. Retired, so I have pretty good flexibility, and am open to most dates in 2018 through October.

Jim, I have two hike buddies who are section-hiking the AT in NC/TN this year. Shoot me an email with contact info if you'd like me to put y'all in touch.

I'm looking to hike sections between Dicks Creek Gap, GA and the Roan Mountain area of TN/NC. Anyone planning to hike in those areas anytime soon (June - August)? I am retired and fairly flexible in scheduling. Comfortable hiking 10-15 miles per day. Let me know if interested and we'll work out the dates.

I’m currently hiking this section every other weekend. Just hiked Devil’s Fork to Hot Springs. Next will be Davenport Gap to Hot Springs in two weeks and then a four-day hike through the Smoky Mountains June 30-July 3. I’m not retired yet so my mileage tends to be a little higher since I’m driving RT from Baltimore. Happy to have company if any of this works.

Jim, headed that way in September was curious if you made it out to the trail. Going solo for the first time.

I am planning on starting a hike Sept 11th from Clingmans Dome to Springer. Trying to finish off the lower part of the trail. 10-15 mile days, depending on the day, with a zero day in Franklin NC.

Did I-40 (Standing Bear) to Hot Springs last weekend. If anyone intends to do any other sections in that area (or any of the NC/TN section) let me know. I'm semi-retired with a fairly flexible schedule. 10-13 a day is normal.
