I ran across these at Wal-mart today. "Spice Tins" 1 1/2"( same as a tea candle ) diameter x 1 3/16" height. Alcohol capacity is precisely 1 oz.

Lid is already removable-all you have to do is drill holes to suit yourself. Biggest drawback is they are made of tin, but they are light nevertheless-@ 2/3 oz.

At $0.94 per threepack, I plan to use them for trying out new designs.

Just wanted to give a heads-up.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH! I HAVE to get me some of these! In which department are they? I like the metal top. Unlike wedding tins, you don't have to cut off the bottom of another one to make the top of the stove. Please share any designs you come up with.

In the particular Wal-Mart I found them in, they were in the kitchen gadgets aisle, not ten feet from the infamous Wal-Mart grease pots.

I'll share if you share. :D

Deal! I STILL have never actually found said greasepot in a Walmart. Probably because I can only take about 5-10 min. max. in that place before I have to get the hell out of there to save any shred of optimism I have for the human race!

Well-I sympathize. There's a reason Wal-Mart has been the target of so much excellent satire and comedy( the MadTV skits are hysterical ).

On the other hand, people would still be the same without it IMO; At least we know where they all are if we choose to avoid them! Ever go to Wal-Mart the week before Christmas? Just shoot me in my sleep!

P.S. If you haven't already, check out the "This Land" one. That's the best!

I saw those when I was getting some tires put on my wife's jeep the other day... should have picked some up. Have you actually burned anything with it yet?

Not yet. I have made a few stoves with other materials of the same diameter, however, and they are excellent for pots 4" in diameter or less.
