Tarp size

I have a HH Exped with the factory tarp I har others say they have swithed to a larger what is the benifit to this? I haven't had to sleep out with my tarp yet also... If I should get another size what is recomended and do you tie up another guy line for it?

mine is fairly big (well, I had to leave it behind. along with the hammock. sigh.) and I always strung it on it's own line- if you string it on the hammock, it will look tight untill you get in and SAG! so yeah, own line always.

The benefit is better coverage for rain, especially wind-blown rain. With the larger tarp it is better to tie it separately. Like TH said, it will Sag and but down on air circulation which leads to condensation.
