I was looking for February and October Weather for Georgia.

I found this: http://trailquest.net/weather.html

It gives a lot of good information, but it misses the two months I was looking for.

I was hoping for something similar that has those two missing months. Would appreciate any pointers for what I'm somehow missing in my searches.

Thank you.

I'd be asking what the extreme high and lows are, how the precipitation falls, winds, elev where the reports are taken, avg elev where I'll be at, highest elev, lowest elev, etc and how it all changes from beginning to the end of the month.

Here’s a startling revelation:
“July is on average the WARMEST month.January is on average the COOLEST month.”
Common knowledge.
Typical for North America.
Climate change hasn’t hasn’t altered that fact.
Elevation is the primary variable affecting temperature in north Georgia.
Bottom line:
October is cool and a pleasant change after summer.
February is winter. Prepare accordingly.

Pretty much all you really need to know for GA those 2 months. October is probably the best time to go hiking, cool but not cold, and not hot during the day. February is probably the worst. Some of our worst weather occurs in Feb and is totally unpredictable. We can have tons of snow and very cold nights, or it could be mild and just cold.

Where the info is from is very important. The lower elevation towns are much milder. I like to use Suches, GA on weatherunderground.com for reports. There is a station there called Henry Gap AT which can be fairly accurate for a large area of the mountains at elevation. If you are using lower elevation info, its going to be at least 10* cooler, maybe 15+.

I don't know what the OP's intentions are. Trying to pick a time of year to hike GA? Personally, I'd pick early May in order to have reasonable weather and to see the wild flowers. October would be second since there maybe some fall color. No way I'd do February. Cold and bleak.

It only takes 7-10 days to hike GA, so if your flexible, you can pick a good weather window.
