There are a couple of private homes which put up hikers. Not exactly hostels, but close. Check your guide book.

Oh, that's too bad. It's a good hostel.
Hudson was in the picture with the family of 8. The FB post says he made the Katahdin replica sign for their "summit."
Maybe he took some time off as hostel-host to help them out.
