I remember wearing a tie when I got married in 1962, but I can't think of any specific tie-wearing experiences since. I seem to have gotten to an intersection long ago, and stumbled onto the one less traveled by.

I wonder if that really did make all the difference.

I will be on a trail today, though not the AT. I need to get some rough-sawn planks into the woods for some bog bridges I'm building.

Weary, a non-candidate

Do women care as much about the way a man looks as men do about the way a woman looks?

Ok, two questions -

Are women more likely to look for a relationship than immediate gratification of their libido than men are?

I'm talking general tendencies here.

How about another question?

Have women, in general, changed the way they view relationships in the past, say, 20 years? Do they no longer expect (or wish) them to be enduring?

Ok - "Reader's Digest version of above Questions" -

Do women, by and large, believe that romance and long term relationships are things of the past, fantasies held dear by old dreamers like me?

Is love dead?

Goodness I hope not! I guess I was being a little goofy by starting this thread (I didn't want the ladies of the website to feel left out!) but in all seriousness I would rather have an ugly guy with a great personality than a cute one that is as dumb as a doorknob. I have been a accused before of liking the 'nerdy' guys!:D Although I am not ready to 'settle' as of yet I am hoping to have romance and a long term relationship someday! Am I getting to personal here?

Tinker
02-20-2006, 16:39

And I was hoping to hear something like that from a person in your age group.

Is love dead?

Aww. Romance isn't dead, it just seems to be taking a little nap amongst some groups of people. Of course, i'm only 20, so there's not a lot of life experience behind my opinion, but I'm planning on two things when i finish college: Hiking the Trail and getting Married and staying that way till I die.

I have an awesome boyfriend, and a lot of my friends are shocked at the way we always go out of our way for each other. Of course, most nights, my friends are wasted at parties and i'm at home watching tv, lol. I don't think romance is dead at all, some people (especially women) just have a tendency to put such value on having a member of the opposite sex pay attention to them that they hook up with any random buttface, and don't wait for the right ones to come around.

BTW, the men of whiteblaze are just TOO attractive to pick just ONE!

Nine out of ten moms agree with my mom and say I'm good looking. If you girls ever start thread about the ugliest hiker.I will probably win 1st.I was so ugly as a child that even with a pork chop tied around my neck the dog still wouldn't let me pet him.We had to also blind fold him.One day my mean sister passed by and jerked the blind fold off and
Rover like to have eat me up.

Hey I am getting mega hits on my website from this thread. I hope its all you sexy hikerbabes checking me out, but it could be ..."The Diddla"..OH NO!!!!!!!

Remember I am single, an actual chef, I own a small catering business and have ten weeks off every summer to hike and now sail.
