I was wondering if there was a way to keep the threads in a permanent South to North order?

No there isn't. I can make catagories that do it, but I can't maintain thread position. Maybe there is a mod that can do it.

How about a single posting that has links in order for all the shelter threads

Now that could be done. We could get a listing of all the trail shelters placed in order, then create links in the list. I could edit the links in if someone with lots of time could make the list. Creating the links using the Admin edit would be easy. Then I could sticky the list to the top of the shelter section.

I'll type them up later today, Rock.

I started editing a list of shelters to meet this request. Be advised it is still under construction, so dob'y nitpick yet. If you see a shelter missing though, please post to that thread.

I've bene planning based on the data book for 03, the at companion and the database at this site: http://www.thebackpacker.com/trails/at.php

Would you say I am using poor data???

The data at thebackpacker.com comes from the ATC.
I'd say it's accurate.
The '03 DataBook is the best resource, but this year is a wee bit off due to having to estimate a short re-route.
Wingy's Handbook uses the ATC mileage figures, but has altered them a bit due to having a different distance for that re-route.
