Okay, it's that time of year again. So, for those of us who need to update our gear for the 2019 hiking season, I thought I would start a Black Friday sales thread. To date, I have seen the following interesting sale prices:

I bought a Jam70 pack online from MyTrail last night. There wasn't any standing in line for me! IMO, the Jam70 is a steal for $117 and free shipping.
My current pack has about 3,000 hard miles on it and it's in rough enough shape that I would seriously hesitate to take it on any trip over 100-ish miles. I don't need a new pack this winter, but I know that I'll want one next spring and summer!

We are doing a quick 8 mile overnight to Shelter #5 at Kettle North near Glenbulah 12/1...( during the muzzleloader season ). I don't have a death wish either, but will be sporting a blaze orange beanie nonetheless! Hopefully I fill my tag during the rifle season the week prior!
Black Friday is overrated, Cyber Monday is where it's at!!!

Excellent! Thank you. I still need to buy a new Z-rest pad for use in the desert and I'll definitely need a couple more pairs of trail runners for next year (I threw my last pair in the garbage in September when I finished my thru-hike in the Alps). I think I'll also take a look at what SMD has on offer!

Yes, in fact somehow I had it my mind, the #10 were a deal...but math doesn't lie, its NOT. Already started to stock up on #10s thinking money saved and I like not having to deal with the 2.5 serving pouches, I eat desert or extras with dinner so 1 serving is just right. So thanks for waking me up :sun

My wife sent me to Toys R Us 20 yr ago for an item.
Wasted about 5 hrs, sold out
Came home and ordered it online, same price.

What I don’t understand is why a clever person hasn’t taken the best original Kelty pack bag and fitted an internal frame and decent hip belt.
The Field & Stream pack that I saw today had 4 real external pockets. The first real pockets I’ve seen outside of my gear closet in ages.

Very happy with my 15% off rain jacket. Finally got to use it in the rain. Stayed nice and dry.
