All '05'ers who had an amazing journey SOBO : ). Met a lot of amazing people, we ended up having a big SOBO party with 25 of us in attendance - a mother/son duo known as Sidetrack and Strider hosted a party at their home and did shuttles up and down the trail.

Who says SOBO's have to be loners?

There was also a big pack ahead of us who we mostly came to know through their journal entries: Don King and Super T, Gills and Samoa, and Lil' Debbie and their crew (forget their names). Sounded like they had a great time - they had finished by the time we had our party.

haha, I don't remember how, but we heard about you guys about halfway through our trip. We checked out your website from time to time in town and we were pleased to find out you met up w/ Midnight. We had hiked w/ him across Maine and we were very pleased to know he was still chugging along. We had a pretty good group going, 5 of us finished together. What a trip!

We never hiked with them but we definitely kept up with them via register entries, as we did with everyone who was in front of us. I'm not sure if they stopped by the big SOBO party, but I don't think so.

Also, where were you two and Gills and Samoa for Trail Days? You guys are going to have to show up next year so the '05 SOBOs can represent! We'll meet you guys someday.

Ugh we tried. Don King just started a new job and couldn't get the time off. I didn't really have the cash or the time to get down there, and Gills and Samoa were at a baptism or a wedding, something along those lines in Georgia. We'll make it down there next year.

We'll (Gills and Samoa) be there next year. The event we had this year was something we couldn't get out of.

Glad to hear everyone had a good time. Thanks for representing the SOBO 05 group! Man, I really miss being out there!

Here one more SOBO journal (mine): mikesat.blogspot.com (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/mikesat.blogspot.com). I'm leaving home in a few hours but won't begin the actual hike until July 18th or so. I'll see you out there!
