The Appalachian Trail Conservancy, a nonprofit organization whose mission is the conservation of the 14-state, 2,190 mile Appalachian Trail, has released a statement in response to the news of a violent and deadly attack on two hikers while on the trail. The statement, forwarded to PennLive via the staff of the Boiling Springs office of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, calls the attack “horrific,” expresses “deepest condolences” to the family of the slain hiker, and hopes for the “fullest possible recovery”...</p>
