View Full Version : centering the hammock between two trees...
I am finding this to be a little troublesome.
Is there a trick to hanging the hammock( HH Asym UL) and Maccat Deluxe evenly spaced along two trees?

(Stolen from another thread) Put marks on you tie out lines every foot using white out, paint, or something visiable. This will help you get a gauge for where it is spaced.
Spacing shouldn't matter if it is exact or not. I can't see a foot or so in either direction mattering to much, but that is just my opinion. I do agree with hanging the foot end a little higher.

Just hang the foot end a bit closer and don't fret over exact center. It's kinda like a deliberate offset in orienteering, and it'll keep the hammock's foot end just a bit higher than head end...perfect.

thats exactly what works best for me foot end slightly higher and a little closer to the tree,i find tree distance by standing between 2 trees with my treking poles extended because use oversize tarp i like finding trees that
are little less than a foot from touching at each end also:cool: neo

I second, or third, what Just Jeff and Neo said.
If the feet aren't higher, during the night your upper body (the heavier part) will slide down and come morning your feet will be jammed at the top.
I just picked up a camo tarp like NEO's except it is in Woodland. I really wanted the Digi but they are sold out.
